Türk Radyo Amatörleri olarak konuya gösterdiğiniz hassasiyetten dolayı tşk ederim.
Bir Türk dostu olan ve Türkiye'de 25 yıl Motorola Mühendisliği yapmış ve yine Türk kızı ile evli arkadaşım WA2KBZ Karl Schulte'ye, 2 gün önce oturduğu Jefferson City / ABD ye mail atarak bilgi verdim. Hatta kendisi dün akşam Echolink'ten de selam gönderdi.
Karl, aşağıda görüldüğü şekilde QST Editörüne mail atmış. Gönderilen ve gelen mesajlar aşağıdadır. Konu halledilmiş ve özür metni Nisan 2011 sayısında yayınlanacaktır. Sanırım amacımıza ulaştık.Eminim ki bundan sonra QST editörleri sanırım daha dikkatli olacaktır.............
Dear Editor: The recent article on Iraq."Kurdistan" YI dxpedition had a serious error.
I have received emails expression consternation and extreme annoyance at its showing a non-existant Kurdistan. There is no Kurdistan as a country, only an Autonomous Region in N. Iraq. Whaile there are many Kurds in Turkey and elsewhere, in Turkey they are citizens of Turkey, members of society, the army, the PTT, government, etc. There has been an internal war against vicious PKK terrorists in past years (I have personally seen a whole village, with litle kids and women slaughtered by the PKK some years ago). Calling SE Turkey Kurdistan is like saying Pennsylvania is part of Germany, or Minnesota is part of Norway. I write this at their request (Turkish hams, ANARAD club, etc.) as I have done many Dxpeditions with them and they know me. See an example note below, sent via me to ARRL.
